Sooji/Semolina/Rava – Kheer/Sweet for Babies & Toddlers
We all want to give our babies the nutritious and healthy food. But sometimes they are too hungry that we think what to give them which we can make in 5-10mins.
So here is the recipe for babies & toddlers both of which all are aware and we used to give them very frequently. Just reminding the procedure and benefits for this for those who are not aware of it.
It is easily digestible and tends to be filling the tiny stomach and so sooji kheer for babies is a perfect food for dinner.
Sooji Kheer for babies can be given on completion of 6 months when we start solid food. Ther are 2 procedure. So here we go -
Ingredients-:
· Sooji – 1 cup
· Ghee – 2 teaspoon (As per your taste/requirement)
· Elachi powder – 1 pinch
· Milk – 3 cup
· Dry Fruits Powder – 1/2 teaspoon (for Babies above 8 months)
· Sugar – 2tbsp (as per taste)
Procedure 1 -
- Dry roast sooji in a pan till it turns golden brown.
- In a pan take 3 cup milk and bring it to boil.
- Add the roasted sooji slowly to the boiling water and mix without lumps.
- Let Sooji mix with Milk and after that add Ghee & sugar and mix well.
- Switch off the flame and a pinch of elaichi powder can be added.
- Pour it in a container and feed to kids.
- To make it more nutritious nuts powdered can be added.
Procedure 2-
- In a pan take 2tbsp / as per taste ghee and let it melt.
- Add Sooji to it and roast till golden brown.
- Then add milk and bring to boil by mixing well so that there should be no lumps.
- Let it cook till milk turns 1/3.
- After that add sugar as per taste and pinch of elaichi powder and mix well.
- Switch off the flame and Pour it in a container and feed to kids.
- To make it more nutritious nuts powdered can be added.
Notes: -
- Dry Roasted Sooji / Semolina / Rava (in procedure1) can be stored in airtight container for 7-10 days.
- For toddlers, a cup of milk can be added at the last and let the sooji mix evenly with the milk, switch off the stove and add elaichi and can be garnished with chopped nuts.
- Sooji / Semolina / Rava is high in dietary fiber and carbohydrates.
- Sooji / Semolina / Rava is made from durum wheat, so it is digested slowly.
- Sooji / Semolina / Rava is a good source of two vital vitamins: E and the B group.
